Podcasts: Quick hits of inspiration
It’s women’s history month— and I’ll admit I’m focused on the current global pandemic— which makes me doubly in need of some inspiration. So with those two things in mind here are 3 quick audiocasts by incredible women to give you that boost of mojo you might need to brighten your day.
The Moth: Maybe by Jessica Lee Williamson
Quick communal listen. I love this story so much. It has everything. It’s heartbreaking and is inspiring and funny. This is a story that has happened to me on a much lesser level, and I can relate to how that kind of set back held me back for a long time, until not doing what I loved was even more painful. This one I especially loved listening to with my daughter, who had some funny insights she shared after listening together.
The Moth: Living in the Extreme by Ann Daniels
I had two choices. I could give it up, or I could give it everything.
Another good one to listen to with loved ones. Yes! Ann Daniels! You got me with that quote! Though I’m still trying to understand the draw to sub-freezing temperatures (Don’t get me started on my confusion over Mt. Everest climbers). Either way it’s a different spin and take on Jessica’s Maybe story. What should I give up so I can give everything? This is something I’m excited to explore.
Newcomers: Star Wars, with Lauren Lapkus & Nicole Byer
Put your headphones on if little ears are near. These women are so funny together, and I especially love their banter as they dig through the treasure and junk of Star Wars. I will say they get a little saucy, but for me it was a silly diversion in an otherwise non-stop stressful day. I feel like they are talking with me, and I love that sense of sisterhood. Most of all, it inspires me to try new things, and then have fun discussing and going down the proverbial rabbit hole of a new series.
What should I dig into that will give me a boost of discovery? Share your ideas please!
