Podcast Roundup - what I’m listening to for inspiration

I am a big fan of the audio format. (One exception is I prefer reading to books on tape, but love me some radio, Sonos time, and podcasts). So I thought I’d share some podcasts I don’t miss a single week of.

See things differently. Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History. As soon as an episode comes out I am totally stopping what I’m doing and listening. Sometimes I even listen again. Favorite episodes include “The Lady Vanishes” which brilliantly deconstructs our unconscious gender bias and most recently “Burdon of Proof,” which tells a devastating story about a student who died tragically suffering from CTE. I was so blown away by his passion and audacity in speaking truth to power. Anyway, he’s thought provoking and I am grateful for his body of work.

Make work suck less. Near and dear to ALL of our hearts. Am I right? Adjacent to MG's work is Adam Grant’s “ WorkLife” podcast. He’s super thoughtful and has curated a very intriguing first season. All the episodes will make you think critically about ways to challenge the status quo and improve culture and find ways to impact your work. A favorite is “How to trust people you don’t like.” Each episode is enjoyable and you learn something to boot.

Diverse voices on culture. Still Processing, with Wesley Morris and Jenna Wortham is my invitation into a conversation on what’s happening in the world, as seen by two brilliant, empathetic, LBGTQ, people (of color) who I love listening to. I feel so much respect for them and enjoy getting a glimpse into their friendship. One of my favorite episodes is “We’re still here for you Janet” which digs into the Super Bowl controversy years ago with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake and the double standard at play. I love how they explore topics and give context in such a smart way. Absolutely love them!

Many more I listen to, but decided to keep it to a tight three to get everyone started! Enjoy and keep sending your own top 3 my way.
